Pregnancy Care.
Andrew looks after pregnant women who birth at Kareena Private Hospital.

Andrew’s approach to pregnancy care is one of “informed choice”, seeing himself as a facilitator of the natural process of pregnancy and birth, whilst always mindful of potential variances and complications, to ensure the safe arrival of your baby, and a healthy mum.

As a patient of Andrew’s, you will be involved in decision making about your pregnancy, and be kept fully informed about risks, benefits, and likely outcomes of any given course of action. This is achieved through open discussions, the use of educational resources (often internet based), and accessibility.

Once your pregnancy booking with Andrew is confirmed, you have 24 hour a day, 7 day a week access to a Specialist Obstetrician for urgent matters.

Andrew employs a practice midwife for your benefit. Joanne, Andrew’s practice midwife, is a valuable source of inside information into pregnancy, birth, and breast feeding, and may assist with parts of your visits, with the option to choose additional antenatal classes. For pregnant women booked with Andrew, Joanne is available during office hours for advice and assistance by calling the practice phone number. Communication with Andrew by email for non-urgent matters is also available.

Out of hours, or in the case of emergency, it is important to call Labour Ward at Kareena Private Hospital.

Andrew relies on the most up to date information and knowledge in pregnancy care to guide your journey, and has a 4D ultrasound machine in his rooms for amazing images of your baby before birth (where technically possible) if you desire.

Providing you with excellence and personalised care is paramount, therefore Andrew limits the number of pregnant patients he cares for each month.

Many women also choose to have a pre-pregnancy check-up and counselling session with Andrew.
